Is it possble to adjust of tatami mats to fit the room size?

-Yes, it is.
If you want us to make tatami mats to fit your room exactly, we can send our staff to measure the room size by machine. But it's at an extra cost.
Of course ,you can maesure your room size by yourself, and we can make tatami mats the same size as you told us.
But please understand the corner of the room is not always right angle. In that case tell us the size a little smaller than you thought,just to be safe.

What is the biggest size of tatami mats?

-The biggest size of our tatami mats is 200cm long, 100cm wide.
But please make sure that more than 95cmX190cm size needs additional fee. Approx \2000 per piece. Because we usually use tatami mats sized less than 95cmX190cm.

How long does it take to get tatami mats after placing order?

-It depends on where you want to get tatami mats.
After confirmation of payment we make up tatami mats in 2-3 days. (except large-volume order)
Then it would be take 10days for packing, loading and export clearance.
From leaving port to arrival in port, it all depends on the place of port of arrival.
For example, To Europe: 40-50 days, To Asia: 20-30days, To North America: 30-40days

After arrival in port, it would be 5-6days or so for import clearcnce.

What's the difference between low price tatami mats at discounter and Torimatsu's tatami ?

-It's totally different.
The first is materials. They use cheapest rush for surface that is easy to get worn-out, we use lasting Japanese washi.
The scond is the process of the manufacture. They bond surface and insulation to save the trouble, but we fix them by stitching. Clearly there is big difference in performance.

Our tatami mats provide surperior cost performance.

How should I care for tatami mats?

-While our tatami is protected from ticks, sweep surface along the line as often as you can to keep tatami mats clean.
When you put something heavy on the tatami mats, put something like cloth under it to avoid dent.
If you find dent on tatami mats ,steam there by steam iron or steamed towel. It help there return to a certain degree.

In case that I spill coffee or something on tatami mats, what shoud I do?

-For overseas market, we recommend surface made by japanese paper, not by igusa(rush). That's water-repellent and has fouling prevention effect.
You only have to wipe off by dry cloth as soon as possible. Do not rub away strongly. It causes damage on the surface.
If you spill something oily, use diluted mild detergent. dip cloth in, wring it and then wipe there off.
